The Salt men return home to Kingys this afternoon after an impressive show against a strong Longlevens side in Gloucester on Wednesday evening, bringing back a point from one of the better sides we have played so far this season.

Things don’t get much easier as we welcome a side who earlier this week beat Farnham Town of the National League, 2-1 away in the FA Cup. They will face another National League side, Truro City, as they carry the Hellenic League banner into the 3rd Qualifying round on 3rd October. We applaud their achievement but hope they are still a bit hungover! The Centurions’ cup exploits mean they are the only club in the division to have played fewer games than Spa, however, they are still well placed in mid table with 12 points from only 6 games played.

Spa should be buoyed by two strong performances in the win over Mangotsfield and the midweek point from Longlevens so we confidently predict a great afternoon of football. The early autumn weather is set fair with the temperature at kick-off forecast as 20 degrees (C) and dry. In deference to our new Prime Minister, Andy “look how working class I am” Burnham, you can even enjoy a pint while watching the game!
