Saw Mills End, GL4 3DG

The next stop on the Saltmen’s tour of Gloucestershire is this afternoon’s game at Longlevens. I’ve never seen Saw Mills End but then I don’t hang around with former Radio 2 DJs! It looks like a decent ground and having an hotel at the ground makes great sense. Not that we will need it as this fixture is one of the easiest and quickest to get to. According to Google Maps, it is only a 35 minute drive. That probably doesn’t take the extra traffic a Spa away game creates into account but it’s still looks like a doddle to get there.
Our hosts sit comfortably 12th in the table. They have not won in the league for five games but don’t concede many goals (7 in the last 6 games) so will be a tough nut to crack. Spa will be eager to return to winning ways, with no let up in the late season fixtures. While automatic promotion may now be out of reach, a top three position should make playoffs a little easier.
It’s a nice dry, warm day. Why not take the short trip down the M5 (or A38 if that floats your boat) to give the lads some much needed support? It’s been a tough week for the Saltmen but spirits within the camp appear to remain high. It’s got to be better than another trip round Home Bargains!
See you there.
Cheers
