That’s right, it’s Elle MacPherson’s birthday. It’s also Eric Idle’s birthday and Brendan Gleeson. The sixty seventh anniversary of the premier of Some Like it Hot might also be of interest too.

Oh, and it’s exactly twelve months to the day since The Saltmen secured promotion to Step Five by winning at Shortwood.

But there’s only one thing on the mind of anyone connected with Droitwich Spa FC today and that’s the Challenge Cup Final.

Okay, it might buck convention that the game will be played at our opponents’ home ground, one which has an artificial surface which clearly favours the side used to playing on it!

The final comes at the start of a run of four games in eight days which will be pivotal for the outcome of the season. Who knows how it will end.

One thing which we can be certain of is that Salt Nation will be out in force this afternoon giving their vocal backing to the lads.
